Pakistani embassy in Washington DC will remain closed till January 7 due to a suspected COVID-19 outbreak. All staff is being tested and the premises are being decontaminated.
Sources told The Correspondent that one staff member in the embassy has tested positive for COVID-19. The embassy press release does not mention if anyone has tested positive.
The statement says that the closure is due to abundance of caution due to a possible exposure to the virus; the closure is applicable on consular services as well.
