Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a net worth estimated at $335 billion which is higher than Pakistan’s GDP which stood at 263.69 billion US dollars last year.
Recently, Elon Musk became the richest person in the world as his net worth reached $300 billion. He became three times as wealthy as the Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffet.
As per Bloomberg Billionaires Index on Monday the tech mogul’s fortune was estimated to be at $335 billion after a $24 billion single-day gain. The Oracle of Omaha Buffett has an estimated worth of $104 billion in comparison.
Musk’s net worth has jumped by $165 billion during 2021. His gains on Monday were fueled by a spike of 8.5% in Tesla’s share price. Musk owned around 22.4% of the company at the beginning of the year.
Following the news last week that Hertz placed an order for 100,000 Teslas, Tesla’s stocks jumped by 13% resulting in an increase of $36 billion in Musk’s net worth. This is the largest single-day surge Bloomberg has ever recorded.
Musk, 50, is now $142 billion ahead of the world’s second-richest man; Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, with a net worth of $193 billion.
Tesla’s stock has risen by 65.6% this year, despite dips in the months of March and May.
Musk on Sunday tweeted that he was open to selling shares in the electric-car maker worth $6 billion to solve the issue of world hunger based on a plea from the director of the UN’s World Food Programme.
