In the last 24 hours, Pakistan registered 1,974 new COVID-19 cases and 55 people lost their lives, according to the latest data released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

Furthermore, the national positivity ratio was recorded at 5.57 percent. Abbottabad is on the top of the list where the rate has reached 25.53 percent, followed by Karachi 13.56 percent and Faisalabad at 10.14 percent.

As of December 28, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 39,488. Yesterday, 32,205 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 12,021; Punjab: 11,859; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,885; Islamabad: 2,609; Balochistan: 258; Gilgit-Baltistan: 230 and Azad Kashmir: 343

Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 321 are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 473,309 cases have been detected so far in the country (AJK 8215, Balochistan 18028, GB 4850, ICT 37272, KP 57467, Punjab 136147 and Sindh 211276).

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 9929 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 3921 deaths followed by Sindh 3491, KPK: 1609; Islamabad: 407; Balochistan: 182; GB: 101 and AJK: 218.

615 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,776 patients being treated. So far, 418,958 people have recovered across Pakistan.
