Gold price continued its upward trend on Monday as it reached a record high of Rs127,800 per tola in the domestic market. The price of 24-karat gold went up by Rs600 in comparison to Rs127,200 per tola recorded in the previous session.

As per data from Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association, the value of 10-gram of 24k gold jumped up by Rs515 as it traded at Rs109,568 while the 10gm of 22k gold’s price was recorded at Rs100,437.

Prices of 24-karat silver and 10-gram of 24-karat silver remained unaffected at Rs1,470 and Rs1,260.28, respectively.

Globally, Gold prices jumped up by $9 to touch $1,802 an ounce owing to a weak dollar. The dollar index was low, leading to gold becoming a more attractive option for buyers holding other currencies. In international markets, the price of silver rose up to $24.43 an ounce.
