A delegation of the Islamic Emirate led by Abdul Salam Hanafi, the deputy to the prime minister, left Kabul for Uzbekistan on Saturday morning to discuss trade and transit relations with Uzbek officials.
Talking to TOLOnews in Kabul ahead of their departure, Hanafi said the delegation will meet with Uzbek officials in Termez city in Uzbekistan.
Hanafi said officials from the Ministries of Economy, Trade, Higher Education, Public Health and the Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority and a number of businessmen are included in the delegation.
According to Hanafi, the delegation will talk with Uzbek officials about expanding Afghanistan-Uzbekistan economic ties, electricity, railway and bilateral relations. “We will discuss bilateral relations, strengthening economic relations, power transmission and railway.”
Hanafi said the delegation will also talk about banking cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
