After the ICC announced that tickets are on sale, thousands of fans flocked to the website to book their seats. As a result, the tickets were sold out within few hours. Fans who were unable to purchase the tickets expressed their disappointment on social media.

According to the Platinumlist website, tickets for the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan sold out within hours. No seats are available for any section now.

Following the announcement by the International Cricket Council (ICC) pertaining to the tickets available for sale thousands of fans rushed to the website to book seats. Within a few hours, the tickets were sold out.

Both Premium and Platinum tickets were available on Sunday for a pair at the price of  Dh1,500 and Dh2,600, respectively. On Monday morning, however, both have become unavailable on Platinumlist.

A huge number of fans were placed in an online queue with an estimated wait time surpassing an hour.

Once the tickets were sold out, many fans took to social media to see if anyone was planning to sell their tickets.

The match is scheduled for October 24th at the Dubai International Stadium. According to ICC, all venues will operate at 70 % capacity because of COVID-19.

ICC said, “In the UAE all venues will operate at approximately 70% of maximum seated capacity, whilst Abu Dhabi also introduced new socially distanced ‘pods’ of a maximum of 4 spectators on their east and west grass mounds,”.

An old rivalry

A huge number of fans were left disappointed as the tickets sold out. Fans have been waiting excitedly to witness the historical rivalry in the world of cricket between the two countries. A cricket match between Pakistan and India is intriguing to fans as it is another arena for competition between the rival countries.

Players from both teams characteristically face intense pressure to win. It must be noted that some extremist fans also threaten players in case they lose.

At the same time, the cricket match between the two countries offers an opportunity to improve diplomatic relations.

The two sides have played a total of 199 times. Pakistan has won 86 matches in comparison to India’s 70 victories. However, India has mostly done well in ICC tournaments. Pakistan is yet to seal a victory against India in a T20 World Cup.
