Former Pakistan captain and one of the country’s greatest batsmen Inzamam-ul-Haq has been released from the hospital after suffering from a heart attack which led to a successful angioplasty in Lahore on Monday.

Pakistan’s former cricket coach underwent a successful angioplasty on Monday evening. The doctors said that Inzamam was stable after a successful procedure.

Inzamam, who came in global prominence during Pakistan’s angioplasty campaign, had been complaining about chest pain over the last three days. Initial testing cleared him but tests on Monday revealed that he had suffered a heart attack and had to be rushed for surgery.

Many national and international cricket legends have wished Inzamam for his speedy recovery using their social media platforms.

Sachin Tendulkar on his Twitter posted, “Wishing you a speedy recovery Inzamam. You’ve always been calm yet competitive, and a fighter on the field. I hope and pray that you’ll come out stronger from this situation as well. Get well soon.”

The Indian Politician and former Cricketer Azharuddin in his Tweet said, “My heart goes out to Inzy Bhai who has undergone angioplasty. By the grace of almighty Allah, I pray that he recovers soon”

Inzamam, 51, is Pakistan’s highest run maker in ODIs with 11701 runs in 375 matches, and their third-highest in Tests with 8829 runs in 119 matches. He was also among the country’s most successful captains.

Inzamam retired from the international game in 2007 and has since held several positions in Pakistan, as a batting coach and then the chief selector from 2016 to 2019.
