The Sindh government on Saturday ordered the closure of all public and private schools in the province “till further orders.”
The provincial government had earlier announced that schools in the province would remain closed till August 30.
The provincial government issued a new notification on Saturday evening, the third such announcement within a week.
On Friday the provincial government had announced all public and private varsities across Sindh would stay closed for a week. It said the universities would reopen on August 30. Before that, the government announced August 23 as the date to reopen educational institutions.
“In pursuance of [the] decision of the Sindh Corona Task Force meeting and with the approval of competent authority, all public and private educational institutions under [the] administrative control of School Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh shall remain closed till further orders,” the new notification reads.
It is stated that a decision to reopen schools and universities will be made on August 30.
VACCINATION: Ealier, Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Ismail Rahoo ordered students, teachers, and staff members to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
“From August 30, unvaccinated people won’t be allowed to enter the premises,” he said.
Meanwhile, BA/BSc, and MA examinations in the province are being held according to schedule. Universities have been instructed to ensure coronavirus SOP implementation during exams.
