A shipment of Iranian fuel oil will be setting sail for Lebanon, organised by the Lebanese group Hezbollah.

The leader Hassan Nashrallah claimed that he was working on further shipments. He warned America and Israel that the ships are Lebanese property. He claimed that there were no hostile intentions and the only aim was to help the Lebanese people.

The details of the shipment arrival haven’t been disclosed yet. Reuters reported that Hezbollah also planned on arranging a fuel storage capacity in Syria to help with the Lebanese crisis.

Lebanon has faced a two-year-long fianancial crisis. The Lebanese pound has lost 90 percent of its value. Recently, the fuel shortages have begun. The fuel shortage has stagnated life, for instance a private hospital warned that it might have to shut down, which would result in hundreds of deaths.

The country is in a state of panic as 70% of its population is already below the poverty line. The army has intervened and seized the fuel to prevent hoarding. The banks are struggling to save the little money the country has left, by scaling down on the imports.
