Friends and relatives carry the body of Palestinian Raed Abu Seif killed in clashes with Israeli forces in Jenin

Israeli soldiers have killed four Palestinians in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

Jenin’s Governor of Akram Rajoub said Israeli soldiers stormed Jenin and killed four Palestinian men early in the day. The forces clashed with many other Palestinians.

Rajoub added that two of the killed were taken to hospital in Jenin, with the bodies of the other two held by the Israeli army.

In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry identified the two killed as Raed Abu Saif, 21, and Saleh Omar, 19. The Palestinian Quds News Network identified the two others killed as Nour Jarrar and Amjad Hussainiya.

The ministry said that the two other Palestinians are in serious condition and are currently receiving medical treatment.

Israel Radio reported that following clashes between the Israeli army and Palestinian gunmen in Jenin, the army has been preparing for a military operation in the city.

The inhabitants of Jenin and the town of Beita have held a number of demonstrations in recent weeks against the Israeli occupation and settlement expansion, triggering violent confrontations which have claimed the lives of several Palestinians and left hundreds more injured.
