Usman Mirza along with his six accomplices has been sent back to prison as the magistrate extends their judicial remand for another 14 days.
Usman Mirza was taken into custody after a video of him harassing and blackmailing a young couple surfaced. He was charged with sexual harassment, blackmailing, filming and wrongful confinement.
On Friday, Usman Mirza alongwith six other co-accused was brought to court. The case was heard by Magistrate Shehzad Khan who extended the judicial remand. The next hearing is schedueled for 27th of August. The accused were transferred back to Adiala Jail.
The police has been ordered to prepare a challan by the 1st of September. DIG Afzal Kasur informed the media that Usman Mirza was to be charged under atleast Seven sections of the criminal penal code. Namely section 375 (rape), 384 (punishment for extortion), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 114 (abettor present when offence is committed), 395 (punishment of dacoity), 496-A (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a woman) and 377-B (sexual abuse).
