Pakistan’s athlete Arshad Nadeem qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 Men’s javelin throw final after his impressive show on Wednesday.
Nadeem in his first attempt reached 78.5m mark but in the second attempt, the 24-year-old made history with a throw of 85.16m that helped him top group B.
Arshad finished above Germany’s Julian Weber and Czech’s Jakub Vadlejch to win his group and a place in the medal round — a performance that got his coach out of his seat applauding.
While speaking to the media after qualifying for the final, Nadeem thanked all Pakistanis for their love and support. He further asked for more prayers so he can win a medal for his country.
Arshad also thanked his coach for his efforts in the training with him.
