KARACHI: Pakistan’s exports enhanced by 17.3 percent in the first month of the current fiscal year to $2.35 billion as compared to $2 billion recorded in July 2020.
In a tweet, Commerce Minister Razak Dawood said: “During the first month of this financial year (July), our exports grew at 17.3% to USD 2.35 billion as compared to USD 2 billion in July 2020. These are the highest ever exports in the month of July.”
He urged the exporters to keep up the pace to make 2021-22 another record-breaking year for our exports.
However, the minister did not disclose the import figures in his tweet, which was rising because of open import policy of the government.
Following the rising imports of textile machineries and other raw materials, the dollar had appreciated by around Rs6. However, the country’s oil import bill has also double because of the international oil prices.
