Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood has expressed happiness at increase in exports despite “problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The adviser posted a series of tweets highlighting achievements of the country. He wrote that during FY 2021, “our exports to China increased by 34 percent to $2.33 billion as compared to $1.74 billion in the previous FY, increasing by $586 million.”

He listed that the exports to Germany grew by 19 percent to $1.5 billion over previous FY’s $1.3 billion.

“I’m pleased to share that our exports have done quite well in our major markets,” Razak Dawood added.

The adviser said the exports to the Netherlands increased by 23 percent to $1.2 billion as compared to the previous FY’s $1 billion. “Our exports to Poland increased by 28 percent to $308 million during the FY 2021 as compared to $241 million in FY 2019-20,” he continued.

“Our exporters have accomplished this despite the problems created by the COVID-19 pandemic,” Razak Dawood wrote in another tweet.

He heaped praise on the exporters and the Ministry of Commerce’s trade and investment officers.
