National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) head Asad Umar on Wednesday announced that vaccine registration for citizens age 30 and above will start from May 16.
He took to Twitter and said, “As vaccine supply continues to improve and vaccination capacity gets enhanced in all Federating units, we continue to expand the categories of those who are eligible to get vaccinated. Starting Sunday the 16th of May, registration will be open to all 30 years and older citizens.”
Walk in vaccination for people age 40 and above has started from today. In the last 24 hours, Pakistan has reported 104 deaths and 2,869 new infections as the coronavirus cases decline across the country, with a positivity rate of 7.42 per cent.
According to NCOC, out of 104 deaths, 49 died on ventilators while 15 died out of hospitals. Most deaths occurred in Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Punjab 49 people died, in Sindh, 11 people succumbed to the virus, in KP at least 24 deaths were reported. In Islamabad, two people died and in AJK one death was reported. At least 19,210 deaths have been officially recorded since the start of the pandemic.
