The details are being finalised for the visit that will likely start on May 7, sources said and added that scheduling for Prime Minister Imran engagements in the kingdom is going on.

The prime minister is likely to perform Umrah during his visit.

He will meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman during the visit. Bilateral cooperation, regional stability and matters of mutual interest are on the agenda their meeting. The prime minister will be accompanied by a high level delegation during his visit.

Earlier in the day, the PM also welcomed a statement by MBS seeking better ties with Iran. He said that Iran is Pakistan’s neighbour while Saudi Arabia is “closest friend”, adding that such a step would further strengthen the Muslim nation.

In an interview, MBS had said that his country wanted Iran to help push the Middle East towards prosperity.
