The Punjab government on Tuesday announced a complete ban, with immediate effect, on all commercial activities from 6pm to Sehri as coronavirus cases continue to rise at an alarming rate.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, essential services, including petrol pumps, medical stores, vaccination centres, will remain open.
Inter-city public transport will operate at 50 percent and trains at 70 percent occupancy, the notification added.
“All types of inter-provincial public transport shall remain closed for two days (Saturday & Sunday) except goods/freight, medical and other emergency services,” the notification said.
Moreover, sports and cultural activities have also been banned across the province.
The restrictions will remain enforced till May 17.
