Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday arrived in Turkey on a two-day official visit.
During his stay, he will participate in a trilateral meeting to be attended by the foreign ministers of Turkey and Afghanistan. The three foreign ministers will discuss the latest developments in the Afghan peace process.
FM Qureshi will also hold bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
The two foreign ministers will review in detail the bilateral relations between the two countries and discuss preparations for the 7th Session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which will be held in Turkey this year.
FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi is on a four-nation tour to Qatar, Iran, UAE, and Turkey, as part of diplomatic outreach to boost bilateral cooperation and discuss the Afghan peace process.
The foreign minister’s visit is likely aimed at evolving a consensus among key stakeholders of the Afghan peace process before the conference that would bring together delegates from several countries.
