In the last 24 hours, Pakistan recorded 137 deaths while 5,445 people have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As of April 20, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 82,298. Yesterday, 68,002 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 14,109; Punjab: 41,074; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 7,027; Islamabad(ICT): 4,233; Balochistan: 710; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 247 and Azad Kashmir(AJK): 602.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 549 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 667,131 recoveries.
A total of 766,882 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 15,741; Balochistan: 21,000; GB: 5,191; ICT: 70,609, KPK: 107,309; Punjab:273,566 and Sindh: 273,466.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 16,453 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 7,561 casualties followed by Sindh:4,556; KPK: 2,920; Islamabad: 645; Balochistan: 225; GB: 104 and AJK: 442.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 5,314 patients being treated across the country. A total of 11,272,531 tests have been conducted so far in the country.
