On Thursday, National Coordination Committee (NCC) reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the country. During the meeting, it was pointed out that there is a massive difference in the SOP’s compliance by public during the first and second wave of the pandemic.

Public transports, shops, mosques and industries were pointed out as major sectors which are violating the SOP’s. The provinces were asked to ensure that the health guidelines were followed.

In the last 24 hours, 3,047 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 50 people lost their lives, according to the latest statistics shared by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

The province of Punjab saw the most number of deaths followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh.

As of December 11, the total active COVID-19 cases in the country stand at 44,582. Yesterday, 42,596 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 12,703; Punjab: 16,645; KPK: 5,063; Islamabad: 6,629; Balochistan: 358; Gilgit Baltistan: 410 and Azad Kashmir: 788

Out of 1756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients, 366 are currently occupied. There is no patient on the vent in GB and Balochistan.

A total of 432,327 cases detected so far (AJK 7578, Balochistan 17650, GB 4770, ICT 34014, KP 51172, Punjab 125897, Sindh 191246)

Since the start of the pandemic, Pakistan has seen 8653 deaths with Punjab recording 3284 deaths; Sindh: 3109; KPK: 1450; Islamabad: 353; Balochistan: 173 GB: 98 and AJK: 186

Till now Pakistan has conducted 5,948,742 tests. 3,128 patients are being treated in 613 COVID-19 facilities in the country.
