ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 112 deaths and 4,976 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours whereas the number of critical patients across the country is still above 4,000.
At least 4,149 patients across the country are in critical condition, including 520 people who are on ventilators, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
Out of 112 deaths, 105 patients died in the hospital, out of which 31 were on ventilators. Punjab reported 55 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 36 deaths, three people died in Sindh, while one death was reported in Balochistan.
In Islamabad region and Azad Jammu Kashmir, five deaths each were reported.
With the latest tally, the total death toll of Pakistan has touched 16,094 since the start of the pandemic in Feb 2020.
Punjab has the highest number of deaths with 7,333 fatalities, Sindh has reported 4,554 deaths, KP has recorded 2,832 deaths, Balochistan saw 223 deaths, Islamabad reported 631 deaths, Gilgit Baltistan reported 103 deaths while Azad Kashmir reported 428 deaths.
At least 11,072,531 tests have been conducted in Pakistan since the start of coronavirus. On April 16, at least 65,279 tests were conducted.
