Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry was appointed the information minister in a cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday. He held the information minister post in August 2018, before being given the science and technology ministry in April 2019.
Fawad Chaudhry will be replacing Shibli Faraz as the Federal Minister for Information. It is unclear whether he would retain his position in the science ministry, or who will replace him.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders congratulated Chaudhry on his new appointment, terming it a great decision.
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s aide on political communication Shahbaz Gill confirmed the appointment on Twitter and congratulated Fawad Chaudhry.
Earlier, PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan also shared a congratulatory message for Fawad Chaudhry.
