Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that the decision to issue show-cause notices was taken by the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and not by any one party.

It was Maryam’s rejoinder to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari who claimed that the notices were issued by PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who is secretary general of the PDM.

Talking to media in Lahore after appearing before a court, Maryam said it is up to PDM chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman to decide the issue of notices.

She claimed that the PDM is intact, it is united and the component parties are committed to their cause to put Pakistan back on right path.

Maryam said that the PML-N has stood against the state machinery and the victory in Daska is a prelude to a big change.

She claimed that they [PTI] could not win even by resorting to rigging in February. “Attempts have been made to suppress and eliminate the PML-N for the last five years,” she added.

Maryam said the PML-N is still intact because the masses are behind the party.

Replying to a question about Jahangir Tareen, she said she did not want to say anything.

However, she minced words when she said when they were using his planes and resources for their gain, wasn’t he [Tareen] a sugar mafia.
