KARACHI: The US dollar on Thursday appreciated by 34 paisas in the interbank market closing at Rs 153.10 for buying and Rs 153.20 for selling.

However, the dollar is being traded at Rs 152.90 for buying and Rs 153.30 for selling in the open currency market, the dealers said.

The rupee had recently strengthened following the inflows from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to the Pakistan Forex Association (PFA), the dollar went up in the interbank market as there was little demand of the currency from the importers.

The dealer said the local currency is stable following the higher inflows of remittances and Roshan Digital Accounts.

The dealers are predicting that greenback may touch Rs 150 in the coming days.
