The postponed Pakistan Day military parade took place in Islamabad today. The civil and military leadership along with foreign dignitaries watched the parade. Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend the parade as he was in quarantine due to coronavirus.

The parade was orchestrated at the foot of the Shakarparian hills, commencing with the performance of a band from the Army School of Music.

The parade, scheduled to be held on March 23, was postponed due to inclement weather for today.

Due to coronavirus pandemic, a limited number of spectators were allowed to witness the parade.

President Arif Alvi inspected the armed forces contingents. Pakistan Air Force fighter jets flew past.

Later, President Alvi, in his address, paid rich tributes to the armed forces and security institutions for defending the country from within and outside aggression.

He stressed the importance of educating the youth and acquiring modern technology to make the country strong and prosperous.

The president assured the Kashmiris living under the Indian yoke of moral, political, and diplomatic support. He said the world admits Kashmir a dispute and stressed that the issue is resolved according to the United Nations resolutions.

The latest armory, including missiles, tanks, indigenous drones, and artillery were displayed during the parade. Army aviation and combat helicopters flew past the venue.

Cultural troops, attired in traditional dresses, performed local dances while the administration of the twin cities announced a local holiday.
