The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday issued notifications of 47 senators who won March 3 election to the upper house of parliament.

An ECP statement said: “In pursuance of Section 124 of the Elections Act, 2017, and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Election Commission hereby publishes the names of the following candidates returned to the Senate of Pakistan […] in place of the Members whose terms will expire on 11th March, 2021 under clause (3) of Article 59 of the Constitution.”

According to the notification, Yousaf Raza Gilani won the general seat from Islamabad while PTI’s Fawzia’s Arshad returned on women’s seat.

From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11 senators were elected, seven on general seats, two on technocrat seats including ulema, two on women seats and one on the seat reserved for non-Muslims.

Eleven senators were elected from Punjab— seven on general seats, two on technocrat seats including ulema, and two on women seats.

A total 12 senators were notified from Balochistan, seven on general seats, two on technocrats including ulema, two on women seats and one on the seat reserved for non-Muslims.

Of 11 senators from Sindh, seven were elected on general seats, two on technocrats including ulema, and two on women seats.
