The federal government has collected Rs 277 billion on account of the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) during the first six months of the fiscal year 2020-21.

A document of the finance division revealed that the government has collected Rs 275 billion on account of PDL on petroleum products and Rs 2 billion on Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG). The PDL collection is lower than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. During the first six months of 2019-20, the government had collected Rs 456 billion, which included Rs 450 billion on petroleum products and 6 billion on LPG.

The government has collected Rs 679 billion on account of the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) during the last three years to meet the country’s budgetary revenue targets, stated official news agency APP.

The petroleum levy collection stood at Rs 179 billion in the fiscal year 2017-18, Rs206 billion in 2018-19, and Rs 294 billion in 2019-20.
