In a bid to stem the spread of coronavirus amid second wave of the pandemic, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government decided on Tuesday to impose a complete lockdown across the region for a fortnight starting November 21.
According to the latest data given by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 2208 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 37 lost their lives in the last 24 hours. From November 12 to 17, Pakistan saw cases in excess of 2000. The graph below indicates the rising cases in the last week.
As of November 18, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan are 30,362. Around 38,544 test conducted yesterday with Sindh conducting 12,430; Punjab:15,003; KP:3,473; ICT:5,975; Balochistan:626; GB: 297; and AJK;740.
Out of 1869 vents allocated for COVID-19 in the country, 228 vents are occupied. In total Pakistan has recorded 7230 deaths so far. Last week saw the most number of deaths in the country since July. The graph below shows the day by day break down of it.

Pakistan has conducted 5,018,483 tests for COVID-19 till date, while 735 hospitals are currently facilitated to deal with the virus across the country.
