Indonesian authorities say black boxes of a passenger plane crashed in the sea shortly after take-off from Jakarta on Saturday have been located.
The black boxes of Sriwijaya Air have been found by a ship searching the site and navy divers are expected to be able to retrieve the two flight recorders, they add.
Parts of the airplane and human remains have also been found from the site.
Indonesia’s transport safety committee head Soerjanto Tjahjono said black boxes have been located and would be retrieved in a few hours.
Sriwijaya Air plane, with 62 people on board, went down into the sea four minutes after take-off en route Pontianak in West Kalimantan province.
Earlier, Indonesia’s search and rescue agency chief Bagus Puruhito said they detected signals at two points that could be from black box of the plane.
Ships and navy divers have been searching the area on Sunday to find the parts of the plane after the operation was suspended overnight. Four planes are helping the ships.
Meanwhile, investigators have started analysing items they believe to be wreckage from the aircraft, including a wheel and what they say could be part of the plane’s fuselage.
There were 42 adults, seven children and three babies along with 12 crew on board. All were Indonesian, officials say.
Relatives of the passengers have been waiting at the Pontianak and Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airports.
