Japan has approved a mango processing facility for exports from Pakistan, said Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on Friday.

In a tweet, the commerce aide said that Roomi Foods Vapour heat treatment plant has been approved by the Japanese government for the export of mangoes. According to Dawood, Roomi treatment plant is the sole facility in Pakistan to process mangoes as per the Japanese government quarantine requirements.

“I congratulate them for this and commend the facilitation provided by Department of Plant Protection of Pakistan and Trade Counsel Tokyo Japan,” Dawood tweeted.

In May, Special Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said that two mango treatment facilities in Pakistan have been approved by Australian authorities for export of Mangoes.

On his official Twitter handler, he said, “I am glad to share that two mango treatment facilities in Pakistan, Mustafa Farm and IAC, have been approved by Australian authorities for export of Mangoes from Pakistan. This has been done just in time for the mango season.”

“I also congratulated the two companies to achieve this milestone and commended the facilitation provided by Muhammad Ashraf, Consul General (Trade) of Pakistan in Sydney, Australia,” he added.
