The Sindh government spokesperson, Murtaza Wahab, has said that the provincial government led by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will not impose any new taxes in the Rs1.4 trillion budget for the financial year 21-22.

The budget will be presented by Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, who also hold the finance portfolio. The Sindh Assembly will convene the budget session at 3pm today.

Wahab, in a tweet, said that the government will raise the salaries by 20 per cent as well. He added that the minimum wage will be fixed at Rs25,000 in the province. This has been approved by the Sindh cabinet, as per Wahab.

The government has proposed Rs105 billion for law and order, Rs172 billion for health, Rs215 billion for school education, and Rs25 billion for college education. It is proposed that Rs14 billion will be allocated for transport, Rs75 billion for local bodies, and Rs53 billion for the irrigation department.
